CORVAS BRINKERHOFF

CORVAS BRINKERHOFF

The Immersive & Subversive World Builder

When Corvas Brinkerhoff landed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a twenty-something art-school dropout, he had a vague idea of himself as a “lifestyle artist.” Then, he met a group of fellow creatives, including future CEO Vince Kadlubek, and Meow Wolf was born. What started as a borderline-anarchist collective creating collaborative, chaotic, and ephemeral events has evolved into an experiential arts company with four permanent, large-scale exhibitions under its belt.

While each Meow Wolf experience is a mindmeld of artists, designers, and technicians, as SVP of Experience Design, Corvas has been instrumental in making the fantastical dreamscapes come to life; as Executive Creative Producer for Meow Wolf Las Vegas, he was the lead architect for the psychedelic supermarket installation that is Omega Mart. With a background in fine art and theater, plus experience in communication and technology, Corvas combines his powers to build worlds that start out as familiar, then transform into something wholly unfamiliar — and completely magical.

Projects

Put not-so-simply, Omega Mart is an immersive art exhibit that explores the intricacies of human imagination. While it’s an art experience with a narrative twist, that doesn’t mean guests can’t buy a Tomato Snail or Definitely Not Butter Air Freshener Spray off the shelves. Omega Mart had big shoes to fill after Santa Fe’s House of Eternal Return, the original permanent Meow Wolf exhibition that’s part haunted house, part choose-your-own-adventure, and part jungle gym. More recent projects include Denver’s Convergence Station, a metaversal train station that connects Earth to four alien worlds, and The Real Unreal, in Grapevine, Texas, which involves a missing son, a toilet monster, and a rapidly unraveling reality.
